Should I buy travel protection?
If you want to spend more time relaxing and less time worrying about the unexpected, the answer is ‘yes.'

That's why Princess offers two kinds of Princess Vacation Protection (PVP):

  • Cancellation Protection is a non-insurance cancellation fee waiver feature provided by Princess and offers the flexibility of cancelling your trip without cancellation fees.
  • Platinum Protection includes a non-insurance cancellation fee waiver provided by Princess and 24-hour worldwide non-emergency assistance services provided by CareFree Travel AssistanceTM plus travel insurance benefits underwritten by United States Fire Insurance Company PLUS 24-hour worldwide emergency assistance services.
One last consideration...

MedJet Assist

For added peace of mind, I often recommend considering a Medjet membership—especially for travel to remote destinations like Alaska. Medjet is not traditional travel insurance, but rather a medical transport membership that works alongside your existing coverage. If you are hospitalized during your trip, Medjet guarantees air medical transport to the hospital of your choice back home, rather than simply the nearest appropriate facility, which is typically how most travel insurance (including Princess’ plans) operates.

This can be especially valuable in Alaska, where medical facilities may be limited and evacuation distances are significant. I have personally used Medjet for my grandmother and can confidently speak to their professionalism and commitment to doing exactly what they promise.

  • For travelers under age 74, a short-term family membership covering the duration of our trip is approximately $260. For those age 74 and older, I’m happy to provide an individual quote upon request if this type of additional protection is of interest.

Let me know if you are interested in this coverage and I will be happy to get you a personalized quote.
